How do I make what's on my page always appear in the center (in the left-to-right kind of center, not high-to-bottom center... if you get what I mean!)?

Double click on an empy part of the page and look for the centering page option in the screen that popsup.

I hope it's part of the freeware version.

Sorry, this feature is not present in the freeware version :-(
