Difficult to give you an answer without knowing the type of problem you have...
When I try to load the work I done with the previous version (6.7) I got an error "Error loading extension," the extension has been used into file but it hasn't been loaded into the program
I try "check for update" to be able to load the extension. I got the window, click the button but I have no components to install.
To fix the problem I uninstall DHE and re install it. Same problem.
I check if the extension was install in the file inside Dynamic HTML Editor 6x/extensions. I see "jQueryFlash Plugin.dhex"
The extension that I used is thickBox Gallery. When I try to export I got the message "The object'selec_imag" depends on the extension "jQuery.dhex'which is not present in the page; please draw it in the page then retry
When I click "extension tool" on left side, I just have 4 generic (3 SP and 1 div) and 1 image (thickbox)

If you see only few extension your program must be registered; when you update a copy of the program with another don't uninstall it or you'll lose the registration info. Simply register the program with the info you already have.
