Hi,

I'm quite "green" about this matter, anyway, first of all the program DHTML is very nice.
I have 2 questions:

1) Is possible to print the entire Help at once?
2) If per error I cancel the PagePlaceHolder, in which way is possible to put it again or a new one in the master page?

Many thanks to all

giomo

Hello giomo,

1- I've to create a single PDF file in order to permit people to print the manual; actually I'm searching the best method to do this
2- simple draw another page placeholder object in the page by choosing its tool on the left toolbar.

Is your initial help file "html"?

Yes, the file has been created with D.H.E. so I created an HTML site then converted it to a .CHM help file. You can find the Help source project in the download folder of my site. Have you got some fast method to convert a .chm or .hml file to a PDF?

What about this:

http://www.primopdf.com/

There is also a free online version that will email the pdf to you..

https://online.primopdf.com/Default.aspx

I have not tried it...

Though not a one-click method...normally I would do something like this...copy .html to "Word" then convert to .pdf

You are right, but the help project has one hundred of pages and an index...
Csaba sent the Help in PDF format to me yesterday; I'll upload it to my site very soon and I'll ask him to explain me how to create the PDF ;-)

I also looked at this pdf thing and it is easy to create a pdf (just try Bullzip pdf printer or something similar and print whatever you want not to your printer but to the pdf printer and voila you have a pdf) but the problem is that the internal links in the pdf don't work once you created a pdf of a help file page.

The external links still work but the internal links are the ones you want.

Dav,

Im using DHE to design a room layout. The problem I get is that it looks good in preview but when I print on paper (!) two things happen;
1) The doors (which are filled graph rect angled ) print on a white back ground. I have tried changing the properties ie transparent and seting the transparent colour to the colour I want)
2) Standard Lines (which im using for the walls) dont print out at all.

I know its not what you designed it for, but its a lot beter at this than other progs (where have you heards that before :-).

What am I missing please.

Thanks

Andy

Are you exporting to .html before printing or printing from the preview?

The problem is the browser printing feature. Actually D.H.E. doesn't provide a printing feature; maybe in the future. Try to print your page using another browser like FireFox, Opera, Chrome ;-)

A lot of pdf creators do not support 64-bit OS. Month ago I have discovered Free PDF Converter in the net. It works perfectly on my 64-bit XP.
