Hi,
I'm not sure if this the right place to aks my question, but here goes.
I've just installed the performance monitor (looks great). All the graphs works fine, except the cpu-graph stays empty.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this?
(my computer is running Windows Xp with all the latest updates).
thanks, robert |

Are you using the program in an administrative account or a standard user account? Are you using an English version of Windows? |

Hello David,
The version of windows is a dutch Windows XP-version SP2. Last sunday ? formatted the harddisk and installed Windows XP from scratch on. The computer is a Dell Dimension 5000 and the windows version is a SP2-XP version supplied by Dell. To be complete I installed all the updates, also the dot-net framework version 3.
There are no anti-vir programs installed like symantec or something alike. Only windows defender from microsoft.
The video-driver is the latest (no beta) from nvidia for Geforce 6800-card.
The user-account is named "Robert" and is part of the local adminstrative group.
To test some further, I logged on as administrator and run perf.monitor, but to no avail. Perf.monitor runs without any errors and all the graphs are working fine, except the cpu-one. When I show the tooltip it says: Cpu Usage ( 2 processor(s)): Kernel 0%, User 0%. (the taskbar from windows says at the same time 15%.. 17% ..etc.).
Today I installed per.monitor also on my (work) notebook, to see If I installed it correctly. The notebook is also running XP-dutch with the latest updates, though I'm not sure if dot-net-framework is version 3.0 (this coulde be 2.0). And it runs perfect! All the graphs including CPU show a graph.
What could be the matter with my newly installation?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards, Robert |

Hello David,
after some messing around...
to see if other cpu-mon. programs also wouldn't work, I installed CPUMon. When starting this program it recognized that the performance counters were disabled and asked to try to enable them. When this was done. the CPU-graph went from blank to working!
All the graphs are working fine now.
Thanks you for your quick response.
Best regards, robert
