Now I have a real problem. I have no clue how to upload my site. I don't even know if my provider will allow me to. Im using angelfire and freewebs, but both of them, as far as i know, require you to use there templates and webtools. If someone knows any of the providers that support this software it would be cool if you could reply. Also im extremely confused about the export thing. Is that the same as upload? Where do I put the web address in? If anyone can help please do!

I agree find a new server! Some of the free webspace providers have strict rules about the type files yuo can upload. The best known ones like Geocities and Anglefire are really not the best out there. Some like Geocities because they've been around for so long, but not my first choise. Hi.
I took a look at the source code for the page you uploaded. The links in your source are looking for their image and other support files (javascript, etc.) in a "files" folder on your server.
When you exported your page from Dynamic HTML Editor, it also exported a "files" folder - most likely in the same folder as the HTML page. That folder, and all the files in it need to be uploaded to your webserver.
I don't know about angelfire. If it has a web-based file upload, then it might not let you load the "files" folder up in one piece. You may need to create a "files" folder using whatever resources angelfire makes available for doing that, then upload the contents of the "files" folder in your export folder one at a time.
If you are unable to upload the "files" folder in one move, then PLEASE make sure you get ALL of the contents of the "files" folder.
Also, with regard to webspace, there's lots available out there and I'm not really qualified to tell you which would be best. Here is a link to a searchable list of web-hosts, including a number of free ones.

Ok I got the site uploaded, but dam its so screwy. It looks nothing like it did in the editor or in the preview window. Also all of the pics are the stupid little x's. I read about the editor thing and I was wondering if anyone knew of any providers that actually support this whole dynamic thing that i read about. I'd preciate this cuz i hate angelfire anyways and im really looking for a change. |

Hi.
The file you create and save with Dynamic HTML Editor is not an HTML file. It is pretty much a parameter file (with the extension .Dynamic HTML Editor).
Dynamic HTML Editor uses this .dhe file and exports an html file which can be read by a browers and displayed as a web page.
After you've gotten the page to look the way you want it Dynamic HTML Editor, go to the "File" menu, and select "Export" (or you can just press F12). This will bring up a dialog where you can specify where you want your generated HTML file, as well as the supporting files it will need. Press "export" when you've got this dialog complete and BINGO ... you've got a great html document - ready to be uploaded to your webserver. Stickest way in the known universe to create great looking html documents. :)

Before upload your site to internet you have to export all of your pages into your disk.
Press the F12 key, write a filename on the bottom (in the directory you want) and then export.
Then copy all of exported files on internet (in your provider server). |
