Posted - 09 Feb 2004 : 11:26:22 A nice companion to Dynamic HTML Editor is ZPaint, a simple but very capable freeware "3D" button creator. It's a quick and easy way to create up-down and other button graphics for a Dynamic HTML Editor webpage. Use the Dynamic HTML Editor 'Paste special' command to collect ZPaint graphics directly from the Windows clipboard.
Davide, if you're not familiar with ZPaint, I'd suggest you take a look at it. It would be great if you could add similar image effects to Dynamic HTML Editor.
A review and download link is at www.clickfire.com/viewpoints/reviews/freeware/zpaint.php.

Posted - 24 Mar 2004 : 02:08:01 Since I've opened this topic of free button-making software, here's another.
DeKnop Button Manager is "cardware" (send the author a postcard). It makes rectangular buttons with considerable control over their appearance, including color, gradients, texture, gloss, transparency, border, 3D (raised/flat/recessed), bevel, font, text (words; aliased, raised/flat/recessed, shadowed); and saves complete projects. It also includes a rollover/link Javascript/HTML code generator.
It has good documentation but fails to stress its "text and position" tab is key to creating multiple-button-sets, so study that area of its Help to better understand this.
Its buttons may not be quite as pretty as Zpaint, but its text capabilities and storage of button collections as project sets make it very useful for repeated use.
You can download it at http://home.hccnet.nl/s.j.francke/deknop/deknop.htm.
