I've recently been researching web authoring freeware and will be soon publishing a comparative online report.

I must complement you on the Dynamic HTML Editor. Its small size and flexible output set it apart. Its interface deserves the term "elegant", as it eliminates the button and pop-down clutter of most other programs, and it provides a very logical, efficient and effective work environment. As a bonus, you've also made it visually attractive. Bravo.

There are some issues with it, but I'll deal with those in separate posts.

A spellchecker? [2 :-o] Good idea!

Davide,

You're welcome.

Considering English obviously isn't your first language, you're doing quite well with it. Perhaps keep a textfile of all Dynamic HTML Editor's internal strings and run it through a spellchecker from time to time?

I'm using Dynamic HTML Editor under Win98, and yes I've seen how it can experience memory errors. Glad you're aware of that and will have it fixed soon.

Good luck with v2.0 - looking forward to it.

Hello Karl, thank you for your advices.
I've corrected the spelling errors (I hope , my english is quite bad )

Now I'm developing both Dynamic HTML Editor 1.6.0.100 and Dynamic HTML Editor 2.0 because I've found a big problem that doesn't permit Dynamic HTML Editor to run in Win95/98/ME because it eat all graphics memory.
In a few days I'll release the new version 1.6 that I hope will be 2 or 3 time more lightweight.

DHE v.2 will be released when ready [2 H:)]. I think in 2/3 months.

Davide,

I've just had a look at the Dynamic HTML Editor v2.0 preview pages (www.hexagora.com/en_dhe20.asp).

It's difficult to tell from the partial screen displays, but in general I think you've managed to keep the Dynamic HTML Editor "clean look" quite well. I would suggest you consider changing some of the icons on the tool bar though. Their popup labels will help, but as the number of icons increase that bar becomes more confusing if the icons aren't quite distinctive and function-related.

Also, some minor spelling errors - "Export Options...Automatic (maintain...", and "Syntax".

More importantly, the software seems to be evolving into an increasingly interesting and capable program. I'm pleased to see how responsive you've been to user input.

What is a possible date for release of v2.0?

Very very interesting; In the new version of Dynamic HTML Editor I'll change completely the interface but at this point I'll appreciate your comment. If you want I can send you some screeshots.

Davide,

Yes, I'd be pleased to provide feedback on your latest design.

Perhaps build a temporary presentation page and post a link here so others can comment as well.

De,

Thanks for the greeting.
