I hope I'm doing something wrong.

I have a placeholder.
I have marked the dimensions with 4 guidelines.

When I make a subpage I use these guidelines to know where I have to place my content.

When I preview the page my content is not positioned as I want but it is aligned to the left of the paceholder?!

Toon, please check the properties of the placeholder. By default it centers content but probably you have disabled this feature.

What do you mean?

The text box is positioned by the properties dialogue where you want it?
