Posted - 16 Apr 2008 : 20:43:30 Hi,
I am working on converting a English VB application to support Chinese data. I have replaced all data edit controls (text box, grid etc.) with hexagora's controls and successfully able to enter/read data through the application. However, I face few problems:
1. When I try to enter chinese characters using chinese IME (which comes with Windows XP) like Microsoft 3.0 pinyin, Quanpin, Neima, Shaungpin etc., the application crashes. This happens regularly. I searched in google and found there is some inherent problem with MSCOMCTL.OCX thats causing the crash while using double byte IME's. I have even installed Service Pack 6 for Studio 6.0 but still the problem persists. Does anyone face this problem before and know of some solution ?
2. The hexagora controls don't seem to work properly whenever the KeyPreview property of the form is set to TRUE. The form_keydown event doesnt get fired when the focus is on a hexagora textbox. Also, in these cases, I am not able to enter chinese characters through IME. The moment I finish typing the chinese characters and press enter, the characters disappear.
Any suggestions/directions to solve these issues would be really great.
Thanks, Warnie. |
