Seem's like a dumb question, but how do I get a std line to
run verticle. They only want to stay horizontal.

There's a better way...

Create the (horizontal) line

Go the the rigt properties panel

There an option called "horizontal" that's set to true.

Set it to false et voila!

you can create standard rectangle and edit it for
build vertical line.
